Celebs Who Lost Endorsements for Being Dumb
#1 O.J. Simpson
O.J. Simpson was a Heisman trophy winning running back at USC and an All-Pro with the Buffalo Bills in the NFL. Everyone wanted a piece of his shine until a murder investigation made Hertz jump off the bandwagon.
In 1992, when allegations of domestic abuse surfaced against him. This was enough to scare away rental car company Hertz, and they were on to something. Eventually Simpson would be notorious for leading police on a car chase through Los Angeles that would create a lasting and irreversible impression of O.J. Simpson.
It turns out someone had murdered his wife, and he looked like a slam dunk as the suspect. However, attorney Johnny Cochrane saved his butt with the "The Glove Does Not Fit" defense and O.J. was set free, at least for a while. Now he is a career criminal who has spent substantial time in prison and has no sponsors to speak of, outside of A.A. at least.
